But what he didn't expect was to actually meet and perform, repeatedly over the years, for his own idol, Elvis Presley, who took a liking to the young, talented Barrasso. Barrasso, now 66, who later became a respected orchestra leader and now is the restaurant manager at The Racquet Club of Memphis, cherishes those memories. But for the most part, he has kept them to himself; no Elvis Week events appearances, no books.
